This is a poem I wrote in the early eighties. I was in a forest preserve area and it was very beautiful, but most important quiet and still. We get so caught up in the rat race of daily living that we truly do need to stop and just be quiet, listen , and respect the opportunity to relax. True, that is hard for an addictive personality to do. At least at this particular moment in my life I did and this is what I wrote.
“All The Countless Times”
I smell the earthen freshness that abounds among the trees
I feel the awesome wonder that should bring me to my knees
Be patient though I stumble from lack of solid ground
Help me only to remember to listen to Your sound
I think of all the countless times I’ve failed to achieve
Because this frail human being might have failed to believe
Be patient though I stumble from lack of solid ground
Help me only to remember to listen to Your sound…
